And all through the Deck
Not a Pirate was farming
Not even Nitech
The raiders were nestled
at the login screens
With new epic loot
Afloat in their dreams
With Rocked in LA
And Nov in Vegas
Both settling down
With a nice girl to kiss
When from Dalaran
There arose such a clatter
I started my comp
To see what was the matter
Away to my keyboard
I jumped with a flash
I typed in my password
My fingers flew fast
The stars in the sky
Lit the city so well
Though we floated so high
Not a soul ever fell
Wait, what to my wondering
Eyes should appear
But a miniature mage
In red sailor gear
With a man in a kilt
Standing by her
I knew at a glance
It must be Caesar
As fast as lightning
His invites they came
And with joy he bellowed
Each Lawn Pirate's name
"Come Honor, come Reeni
Come Papa and Nysaa
Come Channels and Killsjoy
Come Dietro and Sera!"
"To the depths of Ulduar,
Sartharion's fall,
Through the Colliseum
We'll kill them all!"
I packed up my gear
And headed to battle
Flying through the night
There was no time to prattle
I unsheathed my wand
And readied my spell
For the love of...koala,
No time to mistell!
I slayed dragons and baddies
topping meters (in my dreams)
Laughing all the while
in my ears tortured screams
The captain cheered on
He was here for the night
Happy Christmas to all
and to all a good fight!

The naughty toys of Lawn Pirates were a little rough on XT last night. XT tried to break us but we said NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! and stomped his little heart to the ground thereby achieving Heartbreaker.

After putting in some excellent attempts on Hodir HM and shaving a minute off our usual kill time (we will say this cache is rare next week!), we headed over to Thorim and laid down the hurt.
Congratulations Lawn Pirates on our Hard Mode Thorim kill!!

I just wanted to provide everyone with an update on LP. We have been making solid progress every week, and this week included the downing of Freya. Mimiron's days are numbered -- I think I hear him quaking in his tankboots!
We here at LP are always looking for solid applicants of every variety. This includes, but is not limited to, solid ranged DPS. A shadow priest would be particularly desirable, but we encourage everyone to apply. Just click the forums button and head on over to recruitment!
Lastly, we want to wish our friends in OTM a congratulations on being server-2nd on Yogg and progression nicely through the heroic achievements!
Keep up the good work, everyone.

This proves once again that LP is the guild for anyone with a family, career, or social life who still wants to see content in World of Warcraft. We'll never be first in progression on a calendar, but we accomplish more in 2 nights per week than many guilds accomplish in twice as many.
I'd just like to personally thank everyone who has helped to make LP the fantastic guild that it is, past and present. The guild's 3rd anniversary came and went a week ago, and I think it's amalazing that we've been able to maintain a consistently high level of success for so long without sacrificing our vision or values.
Thank you to everyone for always coming prepared to raid, and prepared to laugh. I hope we can continue to do this for years to come.
PS I promise we'll start taking screenshots again.
edit: Thanks to Gentso for uploading some of the screenshots he took!

Special thanks go out to Waterbucket for piecing together the gear necessary to tank Sarth with his Voidwalker, and also to those who may not have been in the kill but helped us learn the encounter over the past few weeks.
Stay tuned for the 25-man version of this post, coming soon!

First we shall start with guild business! It is with great pride and pleasure that I announce, to all who are unaware, that Stink has stepped into the role of Captain of the Lawn Pirates vessel! His history with the guild and excellent game knowledge are both second to his dedication and caring for the guild, and I believe we are truly in good hands such as we were with Corvac, Tehehe and that brief period where All-State took over (we all saved on insurance!).
Secondly, I feel the need to note that Lawn Pirates MAY be interested in 1-2 recruits who are of the ranged DPS variety, and perhaps 1 non-paladin healer. We are happy with our roster right now, but are always on the lookout for high-quality players who have the capacity to become friendly adventurers!
NOW THE FUN STUFF! Moving on to guild achievements:
DAR BE SOME DEAD DARGONS DOWN DERE!!!
Much to my chagrin, we have not taken any screen shots of our recent slayings, but last Sunday LP heroically conquered Malygos as well as Sartharion with two drakes up! I could not be more proud of my fellow pirates than I am! Expect me to force the guild to take a screen shot for our soon-to-be-coming 3-drake kill. :)
Lastly, I would like to extend individual congratulations to our recent Undying run! Congrats to Amalea, Dorreen (Pourpre!), Gentso (Armania!), Vshley, Waterbucket, Latulla, Demonshred, Battmann, Stink and Ashandier (Lilfrosty!).

p.s. Monday night = Poker and hang out on vent night for all you old LP members! Come on by -- Giggles will call you the wrong color/symbol combination for old times sake!
Posted by Laeryken on Monday January 5th 2009 at 2:57 PM.
I'd love to give a brief recounting of LP's history, if I may. Shortly after the server opened, Front Lawn transferred over and met up with The Dread Pirates. The result was the birth of Lawn Pirates. We began in ZG, picked up steam through Molten Core, Blackwing Lair and Huhuran in AQ'40. When BC came out, there was new recruitment to be done, and we kept recruiting people who, while they fit into the friendly atmosphere that Lawn Pirates was founded upon, wanted to push progression content. This happened even more with Sunwell, and what was once a casual raiding guild was now the #2 alliance guild on the server.
Those achievements are amazing, and having been a part of them through Illidan, I truly will cherish all of those memories. But times change, and so has Lawn Pirates. Both from a casual raiding guild into a progression-oriented one, and now back to a more casual raiding guild.
Sadly, we have said goodbye to many guild members recently. Tehehe left us when Lich King came out, and a lot of the drive for progression left with him. Nobody had such a knack for leadership, a strength of personality, and a combination of fun-loving-Giggles-attitude with an ability to be awesome at raiding, as he did.
Since Giggles' departure, the portion of the guild wishing to remain a top-tier raiding guild has also parted ways. It is truly a sad day to have lost so many friends, but under the leadership of Merms in OTM, I know that they will truly prosper and succeed. We look forward to cheering them on in their achievements, and seeing Nice the dancing bear in many Ulduar kill screenshots.
Returning back to Lawn Pirates, we have had an exciting set of times since the changes. A new set of officers have stepped up to rebuild. Anneboleyn (aka Amalea), Dorreen (aka Pourpre), Moonbeartree (aka Tallfuze), Nyneve, Stink, Whysp and myself are all very eager to usher a return to the atmosphere that LP was created for: quality over quantity in membership, efficient raiding, and friendly adventuring!
There are so many new and old faces returning... I just want to take a moment to mention some of them. If I missed your name, well, this list is long and I have a head-cold! Please join me in welcoming back players of old: Nyneve, Mynallia, Pourpre (Dorreen), Wilean, Obito (Konishi), Essexx, Whysp, Tallfuze (Moonbeartree), Nitech, Armania (Gentso), Lilfrosty (Nazerin), Esoteric, Battmann, Auntylucy, Skaza, Rekker (Zerek), Silvervixen, and so many new faces that I won't even bother trying to name them all!
It was an honor playing with all of those who made Lawn Pirates a part of the amazing guild it was in The Burning Crusade. And it is a sincere pleasure joining old friends, and so many new friends, for Wrath of the Lich King!
Hip hip, Hoorah!

We learned the fight in the "reverse" order, killing Sacrolash first and earning our tasty extra Sunmotes. With only a little over 3 raid-nights worth spent on this fight I can honestly say that, aside from the "twitchy" positioning problems, the fight was enjoyable to learn and very stable once every kink is worked out. We like to joke around with "RNG this" and "RNG that", but in reality, unlike many other fights, the Twins encounter is very controllable and repeatable in almost all aspects.
We've got a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks with M'uru and KJ on the horizon. Sunwell has been a great raid instance to us thus far, and we're sure it will continue to please us with what it has left in store.

Last night started off like what seemed like any normal raid night: pondering amongst ourselves how long until Baidis's dad requires ... servicing; when the new mars brover was going to land; how many times Stink might die; whether or not Niz is really gay; and spending the last 10% of the boss bitching the general crap loot we're about to get. It didn't end quite normally though...
Towards the end of our Illidan kill (at about 10%), we ran into a bit of confusion about what Illidan was doing exactly. Was he enraging? Was he transforming into Demon phase? Who knew! I mean, let's be honest here, it wasn't such a brilliant design decision to have the following set of animations for transitions:
Illidan going into Human phase: kneel down and scream
Illidan going into Demon phase: kneel down and scream
Illidan trapped during enrage: kneel down and scream
Illidan dying: kneel down and scream
Needless to say, we pushed DPS during what we thought was an enrage, but was really a Demon phase transition and caused half the raid to die. We manage to somewhat recover and reach the next Human phase at around 5%. However, with zero mages alive, parasites made quick work of us. We somehow got him to 1% while all the DPS died, and Maeiv finished him off with a swift throw of his dagger:
Maiev Shadowsong's Throw Dagger hits Illidan Stormrage for 4168.
Illidan Stormrage dies.
We were all pretty happy, as no one wanted to do that 20-minute fight yet another time, but our happiness quickly turned into confusion (and cursing...) when Illidan's body quickly disappeared before anyone even had a chance to be resed. Some of us had heard of this happening before if Maeiv got the killing shot and everyone died during the kill animation, so we quickly sent in a couple of GM petitions to get this handled.
We waited... and waited... then we played hide & seek. We promptly learned that Ashj sucked at the whole "seeking" thing as he walked right past some of us without a clue in the world about what was going on.

Eventually, after some more hide & seek and some follow-trains through BT, we were greeted with a couple GMs.

Nice got in contact with one first, and he was very eager to help us out. But first, there were more important issues at hand: turning Nice into a leper gnome and shooting him hundreds of yards into the air, of course!

Eventually, with the gnome-launching out of the way, our ticket was sent to a "specialist" game master that could figure out exactly what happened and help us receive our appropriate rewards. This meant... yet another wait. We sat there bored, but assured that our specialist would be with us soon. More hide & seek was out of the question (the instance is way too big) and we had too few people left for more follow-trains, but we decided to test our artistic abilities and make some designs on the ground. As we were amidst our art, Specialist
We decided to that perhaps we could send some small subtle hints to our GM...

Unfortunately he assured us that he had no control over what loot we would receive and that it was already pre-determined.
Finally, he figured out what happened and was ready to award us our loot. Much to our surprise, the wait ended up being well worth it:

For some reason I don't think Passenger quite believed me... until he received the Warglaive.
Turns out, our odd night ended quite nicely. Sitting in an empty Black Temple instance for 3 hours with my 24 buds was just as fun as killing the stuff that got us here. Thanks for the fun, brahs.

For the past two weeks I have been wondering and thinking about what I would be saying in this post. There is a lot to be said. Well over a year ago, our guild entered the gates of Zul'Gurub and began our amazing journey. We came into the game late and no matter how quickly we defeated boss after boss, dungeon after dungeon, we just had no hopes of catching up.
Today, for the first time in our guild's history, we have conquered every challenge that is open to us. The past couple of months have been quite a ride. As I was scrambling to finish writing an "Illidan strategy" post before our raid, I could not help but think of the accomplishments that have led us here. I am not merely talking about the boss kills, but rather the way our guild has been successful in every way imaginable. Never before would I have anticipated the type of dedication, comradeship, and good, fun and friendly adventuring that I have experienced with these people that I am proud to call guildmates. It took a lot of effort, but that's what made it all worth it.
To quote a friend, "as always, this is not the end". Our raids are neither for the bosses we kill nor the loot we receive, those are just the perks. It is the people we raid with and the time we spend together that makes it what it is. There is much more to come and I can not wait to share the experience with you all.
Until Sunwell, I leave you with this.

Not very exciting, but what comes next is all the excitement we need:

Posted by Tehehe on Tuesday December 11th 2007 at 1:14 AM.
After spending about 45 minutes scrambling around the auction house and trade chat trying to pick up our last few primals and “of Shadow Protection” greens, we got together and headed to Mother Shahraz. Luckily, we even got two Heart of Darkness drops on the way, allowing us an extra two pieces of epic shadow resist gear to be crafted on the spot before the pull (with the help of Nice’s Primal Water -> Shadow transmute). After some quick positioning changes the mother quickly went down on the third or so pull to our too-little healers, too-many casters, and 1 Shadow Priest raid. This fight is a joke.

A big thanks goes to those that helped get all those Hearts of Darkness. You know who you are.
This was yet another first kill yielding in new Tier 6 for two of our MTs. Here you can see Andu looking like a beast in his amazing and pointy deadly-looking Onslaught set and Nice in his ugly dead-bird outfit.

Afterwards, the excitement must have slapped our sleepers awake as even Madvi was pushing to clear to the Illidari Council. We went through some of the quick and fun trash where we found giant robots that kill people with giant beams and rogues that shadowstep ambushed Passenger (oh, the irony) to death. When we finally did manage to reach the Council and give them a shot, one our pulls didn't seem to go just to plan. We weren't exactly sure what happened, but somehow our Priest tank, Shiji, got insta-killed on the pull. Upon further review, we stumbled accross an explanation:
What's that, Chrigity? Cone of Cold? Surely you are mistaken, that Mage is 30+ yards away from you! Better luck with those fat-fingers next time.

Naj'entus dead:

Supremus dead:

I think I speak for all of us when I say that stepping into BT and doing these bosses was a great change of pace for us as for the past two months all we've done has been either the most involved and complicated fights in the game (Vashj and Kael) or wave after wave of trash in Hyjal. It was good to finally have a boss we could clear some relaxing trash to and then learn quickly in a couple of attempts.

We killed him, looted our phylactery, and headed to Shadowmoon Valley (only to be sent on a wild goose chase back to Shattrath). Eventually we all ended up back in Shadowmoon Valley outside of Black Temple ready to start the attunement event and take our first steps into the end of the game. We started our march with the friendly NPCs by our side only to realize that the event was bugged and we weren't getting attuned. After a good hour or two of fiddling around and trying a million different things to get the event to function we finally got some help from a friend.

The kind GM knew exactly what was going on and lead us through the event, getting us all attuned. We were all very grateful and appreciated our friend's service, but Jorik especially felt the need to thank Amprial with his wise choice of words:

Eventually we had all of the logistics out of the way and headed inside the portal. We had some... interesting times messing around with the small group of 6-7 people left and finally managed to sneak our way near Naj’entus, who's corpse will no-doubt make a debut here rather soon.

Tonight, after what seemed to be near endless practice on the incredibly exciting and ever-so-motivating Hellfire Warders and Hellfire Channelers, we finally decided it was time to take a shot at Magtheridon himself... and he died.
Between ridiculously fast spawning and brutal trash, countless used consumables, and unforgiving luck-based wipes, we've had a lot of new experiences to get used to as a guild. Nevertheless, we learned, we adapted, and we did what we had to do to continue raiding together, having fun, and killing big, ugly pit lords.
Well done, folks.
Oh, and afterwards we all gathered at the bank to gawk at Andu's newly-obtained ugliness:

Posted by Hiwrac on Monday March 26th 2007 at 9:07 AM.
There were a few kinks to work out in the dry runs as always.
Healers: "But...but...the raid took damage WE MUST HEAL THEM"
**BONG** Tank Hiwrac has Died.
Healers: "Oh, right, Gruul does a lot of damage at Grow 14!"
Tehehe: "Whatever you do, make sure you stay away from Gruul until he is in position or you might get a Hurtful Strike".
+[Gruul] Hurtful Strike [Tehehe] 15,000 damage+
Raid: "Tehehe, why are you dead? we haven't even started DPSing!"
DPS: "I was able to stand in the cave in and DPS at the start, I can get in extra dps/be safe from shatter here!"
Tehehe: "DPS, how did you die?"
DPS: "Apparently the rocks do like 5k/tick at this point in the fight!"
The raid was able to work out all the kinks and the result:

Thats right, we bring a Boomkin to raids now.
Gratz to Rocked on his new trinket and Amalea on her new sword-o-death Also, gratz to Spoon on our first pair of Tier4 Legs.
Killing Gruul means a bunch of us are now attuned for SSC. Being the intrepid raiders that we are, immediately after Gruul we turned in our attunment quest and went to check it out.
First thing to see is a giant elevator of awesome. We spent like an hour playing on this thing, including jumping off it, attempting to jump off at certain points to rez people who died halfway down, and testing to see if bubble lasts long enough to reach the bottom (it doesn't).

After getting to the bottom and going up another smaller elevator, we get our first glimpse of SSC.

After playing around with the trash for a bit, we jumped and swam and rezzed our way over to where the Lurker Below lives. 10 minutes of fishing later....

He made short work of the raid.
Congratulations Lawn Pirates. See you all in SSC and Magtheridon's Lair. Be sure to pick up your SSC attunment quest from Heroic Slave Pens if you haven't already so you too can be attuned next week.

Riding high on our defeat of Nightbane, we overcame last week's near-kill heartbreak and downed the Lord of the Ogres, High King Maulgar.

Still having a full raid, we went and checked out Gruul just for fun. We got him to 82% before the last of the raid died to shatter.
Great job guys, I look forward to continuing our adventures into the new BC raid content with all of you.

We quickly became re-associated with our old friend, the repair bill, as we wiped to this guy repeatedly and learned the ins and outs of the Nightbane fight.
The first set of attempts was plagued by "well, phase 1 is easymode now, but we immediately die when he hits 75%".
However, we pressed on, learning how all his abilities work and we quickly moved toward downing him.
Finally, after some "warmup" attempts on Monday night, Nightbane fell in a flawless attempt.
All our repair bills, potion costs, and headache were well worth it. The fight was a ton of fun and really tests your group.
Behold
Gratz to Nice on his awesome chestplate (not in the allakhazam db yet), and Corvac on his new staff .
A special thank you to everyone in guild, especially those who were there for other Nightbane attempts and those of you who helped forge ahead and kill the other bosses.

To help us progress even faster we used our Druid Hax (tm) to summon an army of ghost mages to fight in our place.

After discovering that the ghost army were a bunch of pacifists and therefore totally worthless to us we forged on to visit the prince.
Despite some issues, including bugs where the Prince was stuck in "enraged" mode and yet another bug that caused him to become unattackable (that one required us to zone out and soft reset the instance) we dethroned Prince Malchezaar.

I got an amazing axe and I got some real competition in the silly looking helms department.

After our quick smiting of the freakishly huge
After a few attempts, and the addition of a 2nd druid, Netherspite was crushed under the unstoppable momentum of dual smiling bears.

That finishes off Karazhan for us except for one boss.
Thats right, its a undead dragon, and its on mother f-in fire. Doesn't get much more awesome than that.
We made some excellent progress and we should bring him down soon.
In other guild news, Novinha shows us how to pick up women.

It's been an exciting few weeks and hopefully there will be many more to come as we continue our journey into the Burning Crusade.
Posted by Hiwrac on Tuesday February 6th 2007 at 9:08 AM.
We pulled together and started the day off right by downing the boss that had given us so much trouble the day before, the Curator.

After we did Curator we cleared trash for like 2 and a half hours because Tehehe got us lost inside the dungeon. We ended up passing two bosses before ending up at the Chess Event.

The chess event is a ton of fun. Each player gets to control a chess piece and battle the "evil" chess pieces in a game of battle chess. Chess was a unique and fun diversion, complete with a couple of really nice epics at the end.

After we did chess, and after we recovered form a wipe caused by looking into the next room we headed back to Terestian Illhoof whom we found hiding behind a "suspicious bookcase".
Illhoof didn't present much of a problem with his pet, his constant stream of imps and constantly locking up people in demon chains. Still a fun fight though.

Next we went after Medivh's father, Shade of Aran. This guy is a whole new fight altogether. With no tank and a propensity to nuke the crap out of people at low health in addition to being a DPS race this fight is pretty challenging.
This guy took us more tries to get down than any of the fights so far. You have to DPS him faster than he can use his mana or he will sheep you, drink up, and immediately AOE pyroblast the raid for 8k.

Despite wiping numerous times and even having to clear trash again after we used all our wipe recovery we finally got him.

That makes eight bosses down in the first week of Karazhan, not too shabby if I do say so myself. Next week we hope to see more of Netherspite and the Prince, both of which stand to be very challenging and fun fights.
In the meantime, check out Loomps "Preview of Karazhan and the Chess Event" on Google Video.

Less than three weeks after the release of BC, Lawn Pirates is ready to get started on the new raid content. Even though many players are still working on the leveling grind, we managed to scrape together a wonderful team to explore the first ever 10-man epic raid instance.
Welcome to Karazhan.

This instance is absolutely stunning. The zone is beautiful and some of the bosses we have fought so far are incredibly fun and challenging.
After wiping several times to the world boss known as "Horde" we finally zoned in to test the waters.
The first few pulls pulls toward the first boss were a mixed bag, but thats what learning a new zone is like. A few choice quotes that may have been overheard in vent include.
- These horses are so eas...oh god they fear.
- Why is Corvac in spirit of redemption again?
- Nah, don't worry we won't aggro that pat.
- I heard this trash respawns.
- Oh shi...zone out, zone out.
After about 40 minutes of messing with the trash we make it to the first boss. We pull, and all of the trash that respawned behind us promptly came and wiped us.
Emboldened by our experience with the trash we rezzed at the front of the instance and proceeded to reclear everything, this time wipe free and engage and down the first boss for our first awesome level 70 epix! However, this boss charges people for as much as 8k damage, so make sure you have high health when you do this boss.
gg Attumen the Huntsman.
Here's a screenshot, unfortunately the bosses are not very big, so you are gonna have to take our word for it that theres a boss there :P.

After we took care of the stable we went to a dinner party. The patrons were not amused by this, so we killed them. We than danced on their table that had been desecrated by the dead body of a paladin.
It's very rude to die on the dinner table Grobbles, WHERE ARE YOUR MANNERS?

The host of the fancy dinner party took exception to our presence, but we dealt with him and his bodyguards in a swift manner. I'm very glad undead rogues don't have this guy's powers.

After breaking up the party and the dance next door we headed upstairs to the "guest quarters".
I don't think the guests were getting a lot of sleep though.

This instance is HOT!

So hot in fact that Zing got a little too excited.

After we dealt with the immoralities of Karazhan we laid out the Maiden of Virtue, whom we assume to be running the whole business. With her out of the way, our boss count was three for
Finally a boss that makes a decent screen shot.

As a bonus, here is a screenshot of a bear with a silly grin. Grobbles is also showing off his amazing new healing mace in the front row.

Next we decided to go to the theatre! Apparently we were interrupting and the audience got pissed off. So we killed them.
Good thing there was a new play about to start.

Hmmm....a Strawman, Dorthee, a Lion, and Tinman? Heeeeey I've seen this before.

The actors were horrible so we shut it down. Check out my snazzy new headgear and cool onstage group shot.

We made it to the next boss, but we were tired and he is pretty hard. However I have faith that he will die soon. Stay tuned for any update!
Heres some more pics of the inside of Karazhan, it really is a beautifully constructed zone.

Karazhan has some pretty uncool debuffs, many of which cannot be dispelled. For instance this one is pretty fun for the healers.

Some are just funny...heh heh heh Hamstring.

There is also Bad Poetry (puts you to sleep) and Roast (cast by cooks of course).
On a side note, if you want to go to Karazhan, farm your potions, your food and your other buffs. Here is a screenshot of how far buffed we were today, you can't actually see all of mine.

So far Karazhan has been amazingly fun and I cannot wait to go back. I am looking forward to the later bosses of Karazhan and soon, the 25-man raids. I am excited for more people to experience this awesome raid instance as they end the levelling grind and we get back on a more regular raiding schedule.

Happy New Years, all.

I couldn't be prouder of you guys! By the way, why are all the princesses in this game so damn ugly?
Posted by Nyneve on Monday December 4th 2006 at 2:59 PM.

We also made excellent progress on Princess Huhuran (11%! w00t!). I foresee a gooey end to her very soon.
Of course before Fankriss went down, Sartura dropped some special loot for us. Congratulations to Corvac who used his plentiful dkp for which he will make into !

...bugs.
After finishing up in BWL on Saturday, we trekked to the desert wastelands of southern Kalimdor (sand lol) and into the temple lair of several large insects led by an eyeball with laserbeams. After three long hours of epic battles, we emerged from the slimy depths, coated in green goo, but with much to show for it.

The Prophet Skeram falls.

The Battleguard Sartura, swatted.
Fankriss the Unyielding did not yield to our momentum, however we had several promising attempts, suggesting that he too does not have much time left.
Great job this weekend, Huhu next?

Fifty days ago, we entered Molten Core for the first time as a guild. 42 days ago, Ragnaros fell to us. 13 days ago we made . Today, Nefarian himself was sent to the grassy locker of Davey Jones.

Wow.
...Wow. In all my long years of gaming, never have I been part of such a fine group of people. We have accomplished so much in such a small time, without mandatory raids, without sacrificing a casual mentality, without imposing specs and quotas on people. This is truly an extraordinary group of people, and I know I always say this in the news, but it is only because it is so true: you are all amazing. Even Giggles, our stuttering but capable raid leader who is still learning his rights and lefts and odds and evens.
The Lawn Pirates would also like to thank everyone who has helped us along the way; a big thank you goes out to anyone who has ever lent a hand to a Lawn Pirates member, and also to guilds and individuals who provided crafting or materials for Dark Iron gear, Onyxia Scale Cloaks, and materials for the Thunderfury. You all know who you are.
As always, this is not the end. We have plenty more adventures, jokes, accomplishments, late-night vent hilarity, and other good times ahead of us. This is a great time though to look back and see how we have grown and what we have become. That is something I am honored to have been a part of and shared with all of you.
See you all next weekend for more BWL fun and another dead Nefarian. Also, The Prophet Skeram, assuming he is becoming of his title, should also have forseen his own demise and should be making preparations to meet us as we speak. I am no prophet, but I forsee that these preparations will prove to be futile.
Until next week!

Chromaggus

His wonderful stun-happy parting gift (ugh)
You sort of have to feel sorry for Victor, he's all alone now in a really really big house. Realizing this, we attempted to put him out of his misery, but he would not have it this week. Despite his refusal, it is now obvious that his demise is inevitable.
Ebonroc and Flamegor also fell this week for the first time, bringing us up to five new BWL kills in the past two weeks.

Ebonroc

Flamegor
Great job everyone, and see you next week for another round of Blackrock bashing. Nefarian's reign is nearing its end.
In other news...
...nope, that's all. Much <3 to our entire crew!

Thunderaan.

Completion.

The true gnomish tank of doom, in all his glory.
Within a week and a half of getting the bindings we managed to pool together all of the resources to put it together; truly an amazing guild effort. Huge thanks goes out to everyone who helped/donated/stood on sidelines with pom-poms and sang silly chants.
Also, we just couldn't leave Firemaw alone with the suppression room cleared, so we decided to go back tonight for a few more tries. The result:

Two new BWL bosses this week. Great job everyone! More next week.
Posted by Heliometus on Saturday September 23rd 2006 at 5:05 PM.

Firemaw next week. Grats to Amalea for being our first mage to make a three-piece Netherwind set today. Stay tuned, more to come.
Posted by Heliometus on Friday September 22nd 2006 at 10:25 PM.
Novinha is also approaching completion of his . Very soon we'll have two big orange monsters running around. So so so happy!
Broodlord dies tomorrow. That is all.
Posted by Heliometus on Monday September 18th 2006 at 1:05 AM.
Case and point:

Bricks of glass. Everyone present did a wonderful job, as always. After bagging Vael we effectively supressed the supression rooms and brought Broodlord Lashslayer down to 1% in a heartbreaking but promising first attempt before calling it a day. Next time, Gadget!
In other news, Kazzak was interviewed by 21 Lawn Pirates on Saturday to lay an age old question to rest -- is he in fact related to the Norrathian god of fear, Cazic Thule?
Tehehe: Is it true?
Kazzak: Nope.
The disappointing answer was quite unsatisfactory, so the interviewers promptly slew him.

This brings the Lawn Pirates world boss kill total to a whopping..... 2! We're working on it!
Also, congratulations to Ar and Lilfrosty of team "Ar and Lilfrosty" for winning Sunday's PvP tournament. We saw some great action and fancy tricks from everyone; kudos to you two for coming out on top and to everyone else for participating.
Much love!
Subtle advertising for Novinha:

Just do it!

Both Bindings in a span of two weeks after only five weeks of MC. Simply amazing.
Grats to Novinha, but there's still work left!
If you've got any spare Arcane Crystals or Arcanite Bars send them Novinha's way. He'll pay up to 20g for each.
If you've got excess Elementium Bars please contact me on the forums or in-game.
Thunderaan, here we come!
Posted by Heliometus on Sunday September 10th 2006 at 12:21 PM.

Arrrrrrghyarrr!
We also managed to squeeze in a few surprise Vael attempts, which went promisingly well despite not quite getting him. Congratulations to everyone on another big Lawn Pirates first.
Nefarian and his Blackwing thugs, I suspect, will be no match for cutlasses, eyepatches, green-wing macaws and pirate ships, all of which will be delivered to them in short order. Along with furbolgs. Lots. And lots. Of furbolgs.

We hope to be bringing down more world bosses in the near future :)

Grats Madvi on and Wilean on your Quiver Sinew!

Now if we could just find something to do with our enormous stash of left over consumables...
In other news, BINDINGS OF THE WINDSEEKER, WHAT? On our second Geddon kill? Grats Novinha!
Much <3 all around. Who's up for Razorgore?
Posted by Heliometus on Saturday August 19th 2006 at 6:45 PM.

Luci = one shot.

Magmadar = one shot.

Gehennas = one shot.

Garr = one shot.

Geddon = one shot.

Shazzrah = one shot.
Killing 6 new bosses on our first MC run with no boss wipes is beyond awesome. Each and every one of you guys did a wonderful job. None of us could have hoped for more from this run. Our future is looking very, very bright, indeed!
In related news, our pirate spies have witnessed Ragnaros becoming quite desperate. Watch out Rags, cause here we come!
Also, congrats to everyone who managed to pick up an item or two. See you all there next week!
Posted by Heliometus on Saturday August 12th 2006 at 1:03 AM.

After a brief Onyxia 101 with Uncle Giggles, the battle was on. Some said we'd do it in 5 attempts, the more optimistic said 2, but I don't think anyone anticipated that she would fall on the first attempt of the first Onyxia raid in Lawn Pirates' history. Everyone did an absolutely wonderful job tonight.

Our heroes.

Mr. Fordragon was quite happy with us as well, so we paid him a visit in Stormwind.
Congrats on those who managed to pick up some loot!
Wynne and Corvac
Auntylucy
Novinha (who?!?!)
Tonight has been a big step forward, and if there was any lingering doubt about whether the Lawn Pirates are ready for Molten Core or not, it has been thoroughly dispelled. See you all there next week!
P.S. You are all awesome <3
Posted by Hiwrac on Saturday July 29th 2006 at 1:23 AM.
It took a few tries to get the encounter down but Ossirian the Uncarred was felled by Lawn Pirates after on the 7th attempt.
Despite a few fallbacks such as missing the first crystal during the pull, an unlucky tornado eating people, and Ossirian going supreme and warstomping, the final attempt was flawless.
Obligatory Kill Shot:

Ossirian also rewarded us well for our efforts, giving each raid member 4g, 11s (hey, almost enough to cover those repair bills for the attempts!) as well as some awesome loot.
Gloves for Corvac:
A new cloak for Hiwrac
His head was turned into an awesome neck for Addix.
Wilean got his hilt for when he hits exalted with CC
We also a whopping THREE new spell books.
(Corvac)
(Sithelad)
(Goauld)
He even dropped on of the enchants:
Very well done guys, I could not have asked for the raid to go better. Congrats on downing the final AQ20 boss and the last 20 man boss we had left. Onward to Onyxia!
--Hiwrac

Yes it does... AQ20 was owned on Saturday! Kurinaxx + Rajaxx + Buru + a new kill, MOAM! Woot. Ayamiss and Ossirian, we're coming for you!
UNF! I'm so proud of you, Lawn Pirates!
~Novinha, gnomish tank of doom

RFC conquered. Onyxia, here we come!
Posted by Heliometus on Saturday June 24th 2006 at 11:56 PM.
That goal is distant no more. Friday night, we broke through General Rajaxx on our second-ever attempt:

General Rajaxx falls to the Lawn Pirates.

Wilean's pet continues to awe us with the sheer immensity of our universe, even post-mortem.

Finally we're getting some useful AQ20 books. Grats Nyneve!
After the defeat of Rajaxx, we marched straight to Buru and promptly squashed him.

Buru lies in his pool, wishing he had never laid all those eggs.
With Rajaxx now out of the way, the rest of AQ20 is sure to fall to us in short order. We decided to leave Moam's mandibles intact in order to get some well-deserved rest before ZG bright and early the next day.
ZG was also no small success either, as we took down Jin'do on our second-ever attempt (albeit, only after learning a few of his dance moves).

The fallen Hexxer.
Jin'do was also quite generous to us with his loot, leaving this for Nyneve:

Panther, Tiger, Snake and Bloodlord also died, as usual (though significantly more quickly!). Loot of note:

Congrats Battmann!
Beautiful stuff. Congratulations to everyone again on another great weekend and to those who got all that good stuff that there just wasn't space or time to mention. Great job.
In other news, Corvac finished his Tier 0.5 armor set quest, making him the first Lawn Pirate to do so. Lord Valthalak was no cakewalk, but he was ultimately no match for 10 of our Pirates.

Lord Valthalak is no more.

Fearless leader in his virtuous robes and helm.
So! To recap, you guys are all awesome, and the priest 0.5 quest will turn you into a humungular banana.
Posted by Heliometus on Thursday June 22nd 2006 at 1:04 PM.

Tallfuze and Heliometus rest after decimating a scourge base camp.

Hiwrac flies to the battle area; a fortress of Kel'Thuzad's army looms overhead.

Hiwrac fights an undead minion, one of thousands from the nearby necropolis.
The war is on, and the Lawn Pirates are sure to play an active role in determining its outcome. There have also been reports of new Corruptors in Dire Maul: West, Scholomance, and Stratholme, all of which have been confirmed by Lawn Pirates reconnaissance teams.

We are, and thus are seeking, friendly, skilled players who wish to raid without being forced to play hardcore. We strive for excellence in the time that we do raid, and we will plow through content as we come to it. In the end, our goal is to have a good time, and to overcome new challenges with our friends.
Our current raiding times are: Friday at 9:30pm server time and Saturday at 3:00pm server time and may be adding a 3rd raiding time in the near future.
We have cleared ZG up through Hakkar in just 5 weeks of raiding and continue to down Kurinaxx in AQ20. Our next goals are Onyxia (starting at 30-man), further clearing of AQ20, and soon, Molten Core.
If you are new to end-game raiding and looking for a guild to grow with, we are the guild for you.
If you enjoy end-game raiding but dislike the pressure of feeling "forced" to log on, then we are the guild for you.
If you love gnomes, then this is most DEFINITELY the guild for you!
We would love to hear from you. Whisper Novinha, Tehehe, Andurian, Nyneve or Corvac and stop by our forums to say hello!
~Novinha, your friendly neighborhood gnome tank.
Posted by Laeryken on Saturday June 17th 2006 at 2:59 PM.
We cleared all of the priests, Bloodlord and Hakkar, on consecutive raid days of 3 hours and 2.5 hours! Every boss was one-shotted except Hakkar, who took a whole 2 attempts. :)
I'm so very proud of all of you! This raid was very generous to us as well!

Hakkar in his last moments of glory.

The death of the Blood God.

Nitech showing some Lawn Pirates spirit as Novinha flies through the air nearby.
Upon hearing of the victory, Onyxia reportedly petitioned to the Dev's to be buffed in the upcoming patch out of fear.

And finally, what would a God be without God loot?

Congrats Saraphem!

Nyneve picked up the first Lawn Pirates heart of Hakkar, yielding this beauty.

Some gloves for the man who never dies. Grats Nitech!
A big thank you and congratulations goes out to all of you guys. This was an outstanding day for us. In final conclusion:

And we have only just begun.

Notice Hiwrac still alive and fighting after the loss of both our fearless leader and Loomp the Almost Invincible.
Of course, Arlokk's fate is just a prelude to the terrible beating to be endured by both Tiger and Panther this next weekend, at Lawn Pirates ZG number 5. Here's another shot of the Arlokk kill, courtesy of your favorite blue-haired gnome magess:

The day before, Lawn Pirates also wandered in to AQ20 looking for Kurinnaxx. The unnecessarily large bug was squashed quite successfully within two hours. Here's a victory shot of the Lawn Pirates standing in a thick layer of bug goo:

Kurinnaxx managed to cough up a healing book for Nitech, and these for Madvi:

Great job this weekend.
